Revisto is a personal archive for the posts you save. Here is, in plain words, what it collects and why.
What Revisto collects
- The links you share with Revisto.
- The public text of those posts, such as captions, titles, the author's name and, for some videos, a transcript.
- Your notes, your collections, which saves you marked as favourites, and the times you asked to be reminded about one.
- An anonymous account ID, so your archive stays yours and nobody else can open it.
- Your subscription status: Free or Premium.
- Basic usage, such as which screens you open, whether a save worked, and whether a purchase was completed or cancelled.
- A random app ID, made on your device, so the usage above can be counted once per phone instead of once per tap.
Revisto has no account to sign up for and asks for no name, e-mail address or phone number. The anonymous account ID is made for you the first time the app starts; it is not your name, not your Apple Account and not the advertising identifier. The random app ID used for usage data is a second, separate value, deliberately kept apart from the account ID so the usage numbers cannot be joined to your archive. If you delete your account, both are replaced with new ones, so nothing you do afterwards is joined to what came before.
The usage information never contains what you saved. Your links, the titles and text of the posts, your notes and your summaries are not part of it. It records that a post was saved and which app it came from, never which post.
Revisto never sees your social media passwords, messages, contacts or photo library.
How it is used
To keep your archive, sort it into categories and make it searchable; to write summaries when you allow it; to know whether you are on Free or Premium so the right limits and the right features apply; to show ads on the free plan; and to find and fix problems in the app. The usage information above is there so we can see which parts of Revisto people actually use. It is not used to build a profile of you, and it is not used for advertising.
Summaries are generated automatically and may contain mistakes, so check the original post before relying on one. Every save keeps its original link for exactly that reason.
Who it is shared with
A few partners help us run Revisto. Each one gets only what its job needs.
- Our server partner stores and processes your saves — the links, the text of the posts, your notes and your collections — under your anonymous account ID.
- Our content extraction service reads the public text of the posts you save, when the ordinary public page does not give us enough on its own. It receives the link, nothing else about you.
- Anthropic writes the summaries, tags and categories, and only if you allow it. It receives the text of the post being summarised, not your notes and not your archive. If AI processing is off, it is never called at all.
- Our subscription partner handles Premium. It receives your anonymous account ID and the fact that a purchase happened, so that Restore Purchases can find your subscription again on a new phone. The payment itself is taken by Apple; we never see your card.
- Our analytics partner receives the usage data described above, and stores it on servers in the European Union. It never receives your links, the text of the posts, your notes or your summaries.
- Our advertising partner shows ads on the free plan.
- If you write to us through the support page, a form relay passes your message and the e-mail address you typed to us, so that we can reply. We use that address for the reply and for nothing else.
Your archive itself is not shared with the analytics or advertising partners. Every partner must protect your data at least as well as we do. Your data is never sold.
Ads and tracking
On the free plan you see ads. They are personalized only if you allow tracking when iOS asks; allowing it lets our advertising partner use your device's advertising identifier. If you don't allow it, you still see the same number of ads, just not based on your activity. In the EU, you make this choice in the consent screen, and you can reopen it any time from the Account tab.
The usage data is separate from all of that. It is not shared with the advertising partner, it is not used to target ads, and it is not combined with information about you from other companies' apps or websites.
Reminders
When you ask to be reminded about a save, the reminder time is stored with that save so it survives a reinstall, and the notification itself is scheduled by your phone. Nothing is sent to us when it goes off, and no notification is ever pushed to you from a server.
Taking your archive with you
On Premium you can export your whole archive as a single CSV file. The file is written on your phone and handed to the iOS share sheet, so where it goes next is entirely your choice — once you send it somewhere, that copy is outside Revisto and outside this policy.
Your choices
- Delete any single save, at any time, from the save itself.
- Delete all your saves, or your whole account, from the Account tab. Both are immediate and neither can be undone.
- Turn off AI processing anytime in Account, under AI behaviour. The archive, categories and search keep working without it.
- Export your archive first, if you want to keep a copy (Premium).
- Change tracking permission anytime in iOS Settings, and your EU ad consent choices from the Account tab.
How long it is kept
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your saves, notes, collections, reminder times and account ID are removed, and the random app ID used for usage data is replaced with a new one. Deleting the app on its own does not delete the archive held for your account — use Delete account if that is what you want. The usage data already collected is kept by our analytics partner, in the European Union, for as long as it is useful for improving the app, and it is not attached to you.
Children
Revisto is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes to this policy
When the app starts doing something new with your data, this page is updated before the change reaches you, and the date at the top changes with it.
